BMW 5Series Media Launch

DSC_9946.jpg

I was invited to the all new BMW 5series media launch in George, Western Cape, on arrival we were treated to a fabulous lunch at the whale viewing deck at Oubaai resort and spa, possibly one of the most breath taking views in South Africa.

And the the fun began, driving through George in the luxurious beast reminded me of BMW’s pay off sheer driving pleasure. Everyone know I’m a convertible kinda girl but this sedan ticks all the right boxes, a little big for me but I can’t fault it on how well it handled the roads, especially the bends! Superior driving pleasure and unsurpassed aerodynamics.

As our trip starts I connect my Bluetooth  twirl my right index finger in small clockwise circles and  my Beyonce- Diva cranks up yaaaaaaasss so fitting! This feature seen on the 7series is now available on the 5series, I’m obsessed with convenience – the gesture recognition system makes playing music so much easier, but not just for music, the gesture controls on the new iDrive interface let you control everything from the navigation and radio to climate controls with hand movements. Basically ladies full time Queening, they say it’s the business athlete but i feel like this car was made for us riiiight?

i test drove the 520d and the grunt-happy 540i, I love how much this one sounds as I accelerate, cutting through the curvy roads of George I’m impressed by the way this handles of. Both cars deliver excellent road holding, satisfying acceleration, and an intuitive sense of weight transfer.

My other absolute fave optional extra is the parking assist, I feel like trips to the mall are about to get easier, you know when there’s one tiiiiiiny parking spot left eeeeeeeek! fear not fashionista’s this beauty will do the work for you

The seventh generation of the BMW 5 Series Sedan will cut a sporty, elegant and stylish figure when it hits the roads in South Africa in February and March 2017. Further enhanced dynamics, an unbeatable line-up of assistance systems, an unmatched degree of connectivity and a new and innovative operating system are the most important new features. The new BMW 5 Series Sedan therefore has all the tools it needs to continue the remarkable success recorded by its predecessors; around 7.9 million BMW 5 Series cars were sold across its first six generations. “The seventh generation of the BMW 5 Series points the way into the future, as we have defined it with our NUMBER ONE > NEXT strategy. We see technological leadership, emotionally rich products and digitalisation as essential factors in achieving success. With the expansion of our model portfolio in the large-vehicle classes, we are satisfying the wishes of many customers. I’m in no doubt that the new BMW 5 Series will set new benchmarks technologically, but also have huge emotional appeal. It remains the epitome of the business sedan,” says Harald Krüger, Chairman of the Board of Management at BMW AG.

Superior driving pleasure and unsurpassed aerodynamics.
Rigorous application of the BMW Efficient Lightweight lightweight design concept, with increased use of aluminum and high-strength steels, reduces the weight of the 5 Series Sedan by up to 100 kilograms from that of its predecessor. The newly designed chassis, a low centre of gravity, BMW’s hallmark even weight distribution and a lightweight body offering exceptional torsional stiffness combine a wonderfully dynamic driving experience with the long-distance comfort for which the BMW 5 Series is renowned. Various chassis options such as Integral Active Steering add further talents to a dynamics-focused overall package designed to ensure the BMW 5 Series once again stands at the top of its class. The drag coefficient of the new, 4,935 millimetre-long BMW 5 Series Sedan (Cd = 0.22 at its most efficient) sets the benchmark in its class.

Intuitive usability and extensive comfort.
With even greater user-friendliness as its goal, the new BMW 5 Series is equipped with the latest-generation iDrive system. In top specification, it displays navigation, telephone and entertainment features, plus vehicle functions, on a high-resolution 10.25-inch screen. The system can be operated using the iDrive Controller, by voice command or gestures, or by touching the display controls directly, as the driver wishes. The large, tile-style panels can be arranged as desired and show the content of the underlying menus in constantly updated form. The latest-generation full-colour BMW Head-Up Display has a projection surface that is 70 per cent larger than before and displays traffic signs, telephone listings, radio stations, music tracks, navigation instructions and warnings from the assistance systems.

Maximising the levels of on-board comfort are extended storage options, greater legroom for rear-seat passengers and comfort seats with massage function, not to mention innovative seat operation using touch sensors and four-zone climate control complete with ionisation and discreet air fragrancing. Special Synergy Thermoacoustic Capsule (SYNTAK) engine encapsulation technology, the acoustic glazing for the windscreen and the acoustic headliner bring about another noticeable reduction in noise levels inside the car. All headlight variants specified for the BMW 5 Series Sedan come as standard with LED technology. Available as an option are Adaptive LED Headlights with variable light distribution including adaptive roundabout lights and BMW Selective Beam anti-dazzle high beam with a range of up to 500 metres.

SS17 Beauty Trends

607631130.jpgHi dolls! It’s been a while and I’m super excited to be back on my blog, I had to take a break due to health reasons but I’m back in full swing! I was at fashion week a few weeks back and I’m excited to share the beauty trends from the runway.

As Fashion Weeks go, Every year, New York Fashion Week sets the style and beauty trends for the upcoming season. Known for its often wild, always chic looks, this year’s Fashion Week didn’t disappoint, emphasizing everything from natural beauty, to stylish sophistication, to high-fashion drama and more.

Whilst clean skin and wash-and-go hair were present across the board during the spring/summer 2017  fashion week shows, the beauty trends that stood out and truly made their mark for me were brighter and bolder than ever. An abundance of glitter from Fendi to DKNY gave the shows a Fabulous I’m ready to take on Summer shimmer, whilst flashes of Eighties inspiration had a more-is-more charm that came into its element in the final days of Paris Fashion Week. And as for hair? Look to Guido Palau, who was responsible for some of the most dramatic transformations of the season. I’m currently totally obsessing over the pastel lip and easiest smokey eye to date!

I saw the same at our our very own SA Fashion Week it was filled with conceptual quirky colour and with Rimmel London as the sponsor it was a colour fest! The past five days have hit like an inspirational jolt. A new energy seemed to pulse through the city, pushing hair and makeup artists to dip into their kits with a fresh creative spirit, the hits kept coming—prismatic lids and transformative backstage cuts that brought youthful energy and playfulness to the fore while somehow managing to maintain a level of sleek Italian sophistication. Here, are some of my hair and makeup lessons to take from the week’s shows that are sure to breathe new life into your beauty routine. I’ll also show you some of my fave international runway looks from Fashion week across the globe  so here are my faves:

Moschino_Prada.jpg1. The wave of ’20s bobs, freshly sheared backstage at Prada by hairstylist Guido Palau, kick-started our collective desire for a chin-grazing cut, which, for the non-committal, also appeared in the form of cheeky Barbie-esque doll wigs at Moschino. Moschino never fails us

gallery-1473894899-delpozo-bks-i-rs17-4516.jpg

2. The easiest smokey eye to date! the colourful smokey eye with a nude palette it’s by far my fave ss17 beauty trend, it’s easy and gives you a fresh, glowing summer look. This smokey eye was spotted on the Marc Jacobs runway so sassy.

hilfiger-bks-i-rfw16-0005-320x480.jpg

3.Instagram’s “fleeky” brows saw no place on the fashion week runways. Makeup artists embraced the natural length of the models’ brows, flaring them upwards with brow gel to thicken and add depth to the face. No more overly structured brows and gel pots yaaaaaaay! seen  Tommy Hilfiger, MK, Narcisco Rodriguez and more.

VB-1.jpg

4. My fave “I’m a grown woman and can do whatever I like”trend was from our Fashion Muse Victoria beckham. Makeup mega-star Pat McGrath created 3 different looks for Victoria Beckham’s SS17 show using Victoria’s own makeup range with Estee Lauder. All of the models have beautiful luminous skin and lightly groomed brows with the focus on the eye. Blue, green or nude the look whichever of the looks the models had, each was non-geometrical and abstract. The blue eyes (seen here) were applied with fingers, the green shade with brush and the nude eye was a mix of two different shades; a soft brown and a taupey colour creating 3 very different styles.

nude-nails-embed.jpg

5. I’m obsessed with nude shades on my nails so you can imagine how excited I was to see nudes at Edon Choi. Spring/ summer 17’s love affair with neutral colours was present in the form of dark nude nails at Edon Choi. Matching the naturalness of the collection as a whole, the chosen varnish, Jessica Phenom in Cashmere Creme, has a mocha coloured finish. It gave the look a warm and relaxed feel, with a touch of understated glamour as a result of the brand’s high-shine finish.

trend1-urbangirl.jpg

The one thing that connects all of these looks? Skin. In all cases it’s clean, simple, fresh and not overly contrived, contoured or caked. It’s anti YouTube tutorial base make-up and it makes the shimmer and glitter look cool over kitsch. ‘The aim is to make it not look overly done,’ Pat told us. We can work with that.

xoxo

The thing about High and luxe Fashion is it’s in you or it’s not, yes sometimes I go with the flow because i’m also obsessing with some of the latest trends, but I’ve loved true fashion brands for a long time hence I’m  showing some of my fave classic pieces from my favourite creative directors in Fashion, today we’re all about  G  I  V  E  N  C  H  Y

PROUNCED : Jhee-von-SHEE- Just don’t be that uncultured human asking for thegive-en-chee it’s WRONG you’ll thank me later!

Fashion empowers. Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci my second fave creative director loved basketball when he was a child. Decades later, when success as a designer had opened doors for him, he was able to learn about a dozen new worlds. The lines on a basketball court; the lines of the Bauhaus; epochal twentieth-century design movement: past, present, future gracefully eliding on a catwalk in Paris in a collection of clothes for men on January 17, 2014. Sound portentous? Well, Tisci has a habit of bringing that out in people, such is the nature of his grandiose presentations.

Today’s was centered on a basketball court whose markings were picked out in neon. The models walked with hair slicked to their heads, which were wrapped tightly in nets. They looked like members of a Latino gang. But, insisted Tisci, that was how a gentleman in the twenties, contemporaneous with the Bauhaus, would have preserved his look when he slept, and gang members were simply borrowing from that tradition. A delightful notion indeed, especially when it was hardly bygone male beauty regimens that dictated the tone of the collection.

Rather, it was a casual new take on tailoring—trousers looser, puddling at the ankle; jackets elongated, coat-length to create a new suit—and an abstract approach to graphics. If his rottweilers and Madonnas have made Tisci one of the most identifiable, and copied, designers in the world over the past few years, here he shelved the figurative in favor of swooshes of paint and linear Bauhaus-influenced strands of color. He also defined the line of garments with zippers. That didn’t put the fakers off for long, but today, in this moment, Givenchy had an elegant severity that underscored Tisci’s role in turning the sweatshirt into this season’s high-fashion essential. Another fave from Tisci was the birds of paradise range i couldn’t get my hands on it so I added my hand drawn version of  this print onto my pics Tisci went  into the light with this collection in 2012. It was dawn in Givenchyworld—tropical-flower prints, crystals and sequins sparkling like dew on leaves, and white… so much white, banishing every trace of the black that has been Tisci’s trademark up to this point. More to the point, it was a triumph.

I’m wearing the classic basketball patch sweater from the AW14/15 range the back was a hard find but I loove it. I’m also currently totally obsessing over sweaters I believe even when you dress down you should still keep it chic, i paired it with nimcouture denims and ankle boots from Rubi by cotton on
